More Growth: 2008 - 2009
Electricite du Liban (EDL) is another of the heavyweights of our clients; the project kick off was as early as January 2009 and we are making headways in a major computerization and automation project at EDL, one of Lebanon’s biggest Public Institutions. The work with Pepsi Cola International is still going for the 10th year; we continue to deliver continuous development and support services for PCI’s operating entities in the region. From Lebanon to KSA and from Turkey to Pakistan, all PCI’s operating entities in the bottling and snacks business rely on Astrolabe Team to deliver their core business solution Pepsi Sales & Distribution. The “Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs” which is the National Bureau of Tobacco in Lebanon represents another similar success story. Since 2002, Astrolabe has been delivering Management and Operations Services for the MIS Department. A complete outsourcing service to manage not only the Business Applications, but the full range of services an MIS department is responsible for. At this stage, Astrolabe is executing Contract number III for the Regie. As we are proud of our clients’ trust in our products, services and our commitment to deliver successfully running solutions, we continue to expand our product offering: Library Management System, Student Information System and Charitable Work for Orphans.
EDL represents a classic business case where the introduction of Enterprise Level ERP will make a difference. Part of the scope of Re-Engineering and Enablement of the Finance and Accounting Department of EDL, Tomorrows Advise recommended Astrolabe’s Solution as their Technology partner to supply Back Office Operations Software Solutions: ERP and HRMS to cover the following Business and Functional Areas: Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Warehouses, Maintenance, Receivables, Personnel, Payroll, Attendance, Reporting and Workflow. The introduction of Astrolabe Business Solutions will have Direct Positive Measurable Impact on EDL operations, and will enable the Senior Management to have real visibility into the operation, real time accurate actionable information, and to rely on the credibility of Internal Controls that have been implemented. Pepsi Cola International - East Med, is responsible for the Operations and the Operating Entities in the ME and Africa. Pepsi Operations, both Bottlers and Snack Distributors use a business critical applications to deliver their goods to the ever increasing number of outlets and points of sale, over a very large and complex grid. In order to do so successfully and efficiently, Pepsi decided 10 times so far, over 10 consecutive years to use Astrolabe Development Team to Build, Enhance and Support the System. Our services cover the span of the countries of the Middle East, from the Mediterranean coast, deep into the Gulf.
The Operation and Management Project for the Regie continue to be a success with the ever increasing number of business application and process automation. The Purchasing of the Raw Tobacco from Lebanese Tobacco Farmers in 2008 reached a substantial level of automation, but with Astrolabe’s strive for excellent, the 2009 Raw Tobacco Purchasing will reach new heights. Full automation, with the introduction with field mobile application environment, he Regie will become a model for other operations in Lebanon and similar Tobacco operations globally.
